Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, at Stavanger) is an Norwegian music producer and a singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. Katy Perry's praise for her track Runaway via a blog post brought the singer additional appreciation. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is when she discovered a grand piano that was in the attic. It was awe-inspiring to see what it could do. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music more as a hobby than a profession. The Aksnes family encouraged her to compose. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Responding to her mother's advice that she should not be aiming at achieving fame through the songs she writes, but rather recognize the significance of their lives and their impact on society. Her mother suggested that she perform her songs publicly so that people can see the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. The family did not be aware of this until she reached the age of 14. Aurora's accomplishments were never her goal. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. She believes that music is the most effective method of feeling anything.
